Dr. Joshua Talley, DMD
From the age of 12, Dr. Joshua Talley knew he wanted to become a dentist. What began as a childhood dream has grown into a lifelong passion for helping others through quality dental care.
Reflecting on his career, Dr. Talley says:
“The longer I’ve been around this profession, the more I know how rewarding it can be. I learned early on that dentistry is much more than just working on teeth. It’s helping patients improve their quality of life through their oral health and getting to know them on a personal level.”
Dr. Talley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Southern Arkansas University in 2008. He then attended Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, where he completed a Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences in 2011. In 2015, he graduated with honors receiving a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois.
In recognition of his academic achievements, Dr. Talley was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. He was also selected as a National Health Service Corps Scholar, a distinction awarded to students committed to serving communities with limited access to healthcare.
Following dental school, Dr. Talley returned to Texarkana and dedicated the next 11 years of his career to public health dentistry. He served as Dental Director for Special Health Resources, leading efforts to provide quality dental care to underserved populations throughout the Ark-La-Tex.
He enjoys serving others through both local and international dental outreach efforts.
When he is not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, volunteering in KidsU at First Baptist Church, golfing and hunting.
Dr. Talley is excited to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning and operating Texarkana Dental Center, where he is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages while building lasting relationships with the families he serves.

Meet the Family Behind Texarkana Dental Center
Texarkana Dental Center is truly a family dream come to life.
For Josh and Ashley Talley, Texarkana has always felt like home. Their story began while attending Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, and they have been married since 2009. Josh’s education and dental training took their family to several different places over the years, including Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, and Texas, before bringing them back home to Texarkana.
In 2015, Josh and Ashley returned to Texarkana and began putting down roots. It was here that they built their home, grew their family, and became even more connected to the people and community around them. Their two children, Cooper and Abigayle, were born and raised in Texarkana, making this town an important part of their family’s story.
For the Talleys, life has always been about more than work. Faith, family, friendships, and serving others are at the center of who they are. They believe some of life’s greatest blessings come through the relationships we build and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people around us.
That same belief is at the heart of Texarkana Dental Center.
This practice is more than simply a dental office to the Talley family. It is the result of years of dreaming, hard work, sacrifice, and a desire to serve the community they are proud to call home. Their vision is to create a dental home where patients feel welcomed from the moment they walk through the door, where they are listened to, cared for, and genuinely known.
